The Pterophyllum Scalare, also known as the Angel Fish, is usually founds in the rivers of Amazon or in the regions located at South America. Angel Fish can grow as big as 15 centimeters and can live in a temperature that is between 22 to 30 degrees Celsius. More often than not, Angel Fish’s diet is composed of dried foods, worms, plants, insects, as well as small crustaceans. And just like many other fish, they too breed by laying eggs.
Angel Fish is considered as one of the most popular choices when it comes to aquarium fishes. It was only during the early 20th century when the Angel Fish gained popularity among aquarium fish enthusiasts.
This breed belongs to the Cichlid family. What’s so fascinating about the Angel fish is its natural color which is silver and has three vertical stripes that are colored in brown. But thanks to the breeders, there are now different colors as well as features which resulted to Half Black Veil Angelfish, Gold Pearl Scale Angelfish, and so much more.
Although the Angel Fish eats plants and insects, it is also considered as piscivores or a fish that eats other fish as well. You might notice that the Angel Fish can live peacefully with the other breeds and fishes in your aquarium. However, you have to be careful in placing smaller breeds such as the neon tetra. It is possible that the Angel Fish would try to take a bite of the smaller breeds swimming at the top of your tank.
The best thing about the
Angel Fish is that it can be easily managed and you can also breed it without so much fuss as well. When doing so, you have to make sure that your aquarium has enough space and is deep enough for the Angel Fish to swim around. Moreover, you must also put the plants at the edges of the aquarium so that they can swim with comfort.
Try to buy a pair of Angel Fish if you would like to breed them. But you can also buy 3 female and 3 male Angel Fishes and let them find their pair. Once an Angel Fish finds its pair, they would no longer look for another partner as long as their mate lives. Just see to it that the Angel Fish is already 6 to 12 months old because that is the only time that they can reach their sexual maturity.

I need help on trying to tell if my fish is going to have eggs or little fish. Please help with the info needed. Dot
Angelfish have eggs, not live babies, but the conditions need to be suitable if they are to breed. Even then there is no assurance that they will breed and if they do the eggs still need to survive till maturity. If you are serious about breeding angelfish you will need to do a lot of research. Egg laying fish are much more difficult to breed than live bearers. Goodluck
